3dem Volk der Ephesier würdiger Weise, wolle beschließen der Rat: dass die
4erlosten Vorsitzenden für die kommende Volksversammlung hierüber verhandeln
5lassen und die Beschlussvorlage des Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der
6Rat es für gut befindet, dass man belobige das Volk der Ephesier und bekränze
7mit goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz wegen seines Wohlwolles gegenüber dem Volk der Athe-
8ner und dem König Ptolemaios und verkündige diesen Kranz
9an den Dionysien in der Stadt bei der Tragödien-Uraufführung; dass für die Anfertigung
10des Kranzes und die Verkündigung Sorge tragen die Generäle
11und der Schatzmeister der Militärkasse; dass man belobige auch die entsandten
12Gesandten Apollophanes S.d. - - -, Iason S.d. - - -, und
13und einen jeden von ihnen mit einem Myrthen-Kranz bekränze; - - -
14- - -; dass man sie einschreibe in Phyle und Demos und Phratrie, die sie
15wollen; dass man sie auch zum Bankett in das Prytaneion lade
16für morgen; – Damit nun auch das Volk in öffentlicher Weise stets eingedenk der
17in früheren Zeiten ihm zuteil gewordenen Wohltaten sei und einem jeden
18angemessenen Dank abstattet, soll auch den Ephesiern das Bürgerrecht seitens
19des Volkes sein und ihnen nach Prüfung erlaubt sein, eingeschrieben zu werden in Phyle und Demos und
20Phratrie, die ein jeder von ihnen sich wählt; dass diesen Beschluss
21der Sekretär, der während der Prytanie amtiert, aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle
22vor dem Eleusinion; dass für die Aufzeichnung und die Aufstellung der Stele
23der Schatzmeister der Militärkasse die entstandenen Kosten begleiche.

6it seems good to the Council to praise the Ephesian People and crown
7[it with a gold crown according to the law for its good will] and love of honour
8towards the Athenian People, and to announce this crown
9at the tragedies of the City Dionysia in the new competition; and the generals
10and the treasurer of the military fund shall take care of the making
11and announcement of the crown; and to praise those sent out
12[as official visitors], Apollophanes son of -atos, Iason son of -, and
13crown each of them with a myrtle crown; [and they shall also have citizenship]
14and be inscribed in the tribe and deme and phratry
15that they wish; and to invite them to hospitality in the city hall
16tomorrow; in order, therefore, that the people may also be seen to be ever mindful of
17benefactions to itself in previous times and to render worthy thanks for each,
18the Ephesians shall also have the citizenship from the People
19and, having been scrutinised, may be enrolled in the tribe and deme and
20phratry which each of them chooses; and the prytany secretary
21shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and stand it
22by the Eleusinion; and the treasurer of the military fund
23shall allocate for [inscribing and setting up?] the stele the amount accrued.
